We are a small business, which means as an intern you will be an integral part of inner workings of our team. You will receive hands on experience working in many facets of the business from managing clients to researching projects and initiatives and more.
Drafting press releases, media alerts, blog posts and social media postings
Tracking and managing press hits and promotions for various clients
Researching trends, prospective clients and more
Updating social media, websites and blogs
Support planning and executing client events
Researching and updating media lists and editorial calendars
Attend client events as necessary
Occasional administrative tasks will also be required as necessary
Ideal Candidate should:
Be a goal oriented individual with excellent time management and ability to work on and balance multiple projects at once.
Be proficient in various forms of social media as well as Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Google Drive are a must. Familiarity with WordPress and Google Analytics is a plus.
Major in journalism, Communications, English, Public Relations, Marketing or related fields preferred.
Have necessary professional writing, editing, and communication skills. Some knowledge of editing, updating, and maintaining websites and blogs is a plus.
Have access to a personal computer
Maintain a professional appearance at all times
Be flexible, a team player, take initiative and have an impeccable attention to detail
Hours per week: 10 - 15 hrs
Compensation: College credit as this is an unpaid internship and amazing experience.

Location: Internship will be in The Tergis Group’s office in Arlington, VA within walking distance of the Clarendon Metro Station. There is the possibility of some flexibility to work remotely.
